What is an EICR?

An Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) is a formal assessment of the fixed wiring within a property. It identifies any potential safety issues, damage, deterioration, or non-compliance with current electrical standards (BS 7671).

Our qualified electricians will test your system and provide a detailed report outlining:

  • Any immediate safety risks (C1 and C2 codes)

  • Areas not compliant with regulations (C3 code)

  • Recommended remedial actions

  • Whether the installation is ‘Satisfactory’ or ‘Unsatisfactory’

Who Needs an EICR?

Electrical regulations now require regular inspection and testing in many scenarios:

Landlords

Legally required every 5 years (or on change of tenancy) Must provide EICR to tenants and local authorities upon request

Homeowners

Recommended every 10 years for domestic properties Or prior to buying/selling a home for peace of mind

Businesses & Commercial Premises

Typically required every 5 years Ensures compliance with the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989
